7 Visible Signs Of An Unhappy Person

Are you an unhappy person or do you know someone who is unhappy with their life? How do you figure out whether a person is truly happy or just pretending to be happy?

Well to be honest it is quite tough to understand the true mental state of human beings. People are genius at pretending to be happy and hiding their dark secrets.

Emotional wellness is far more important now than ever before. The simple reason is that there has been a significant rise in mental health issues over the past few years, especially among the younger population.

Sometimes what we need is to identify what we are doing that is continuing to make us unhappy. Paying attention to those little or big signs can help us deal with the emotional state. There might be an underlying reason or a factor that makes someone really unhappy, but what makes us continue to remain unhappy is we deal with it and what we do in our every day life.

So, let us go through some of the signs of an unhappy person:

1. They socialize with pessimistic people

Often, we don’t have a clue who our genuine companions are. Several people around us frequently condemn us for our quest for happiness. Paying attention to their useless words make us feel miserable.

Remember the moments when somebody humiliated you or asked you to change the way you carried on. You probably felt an ache of hurt.

That is the point at which you need to have a go at something new and better in your life, even if the people you trust don’t believe in you. These people’s degrading comment regularly impacts your temperament. However, you can correct it.

Solution: Try to keep your distance from those people. Do what you need in your life. Follow the path which helps you grow. And never rely upon these people for your happiness.

2. They cling to past and future

Another fundamental characteristic of miserable people. On the off chance that you are making an excessive number of plans for the future, you will hurt yourself. Similarly, lamenting over a miserable past will not bring you happiness.

Making plans is good. But, if you don’t work on them then sooner or later you will upset yourself. Similarly, you may think of tons of things you could have done to brighten your terrible past. But the truth is that doesn’t change anything in present. In fact, it adds grief only.

Solution: Understand that, you can’t change the past. And you can’t predict the future. You can work hard in the present to make the future better. So, focus on now. Try to make the best out of the present.

3. They live a poor lifestyle

You can tell a lot about people by simply observing the way they live and the food they eat. Unhappy people have a habit of eating a lot of unhealthy or junk food.

Healthy foods such as fruits, green leafy vegetables, and lentils have the precise amount of nutrients our body requires to be calm and happy. However, junk food increases the chances of high cholesterol, hypertension, heart attack, blood cell blockage, and various other physical and mental issues.

Solution: Well the solution is simple. Switch to a healthy diet. Eat vegetables, fruits and drink detoxifying drinks daily. You will surely notice the positive changes in your body and mind.

4. They continuously compare with other’s success

Comparing your success with other’s success is the root of the sorrow of several people. If you keep comparing, you will never get happy.

Solution: Understand that everyone’s journey is different. Everyone goes through their share of ups and downs. You may notice someone’s success. But never admire their struggle to achieve success. You may notice someone’s failure. But never know their back story.

Learn to take inspiration from successful people and show empathy towards the strugglers.

5. They get angry soon

This is one of the most common traits of unhappy people. There can be various reasons for anger. Sometimes it is about your obsession with forcing other people to follow your footsteps. Other times it may occur due to psychological disorder of emotion.

Solution: If the problem is serious, take help from a clinical psychologist for anger management sessions. Take proper care of your body and mind. Know that true happiness lies within. Never attach it with others.

6. Self-victimization

Self-victimization is an alarming state of unhappiness. Once you enter that state, you curse yourself for everything wrong happening in your life.

Such people find it tough to concentrate on the various good things happening in their life. They might not say it in words but deep inside they curse themselves. Such people are moody, don’t stand up for their commitments, and give false assurance.

Solution: Take quick action to get rid of these dangerous traits. Talk to someone you trust. If needed, consult a psychologist.

7. Constant negativity

Negativity is a wicked friend of unhappy people. It clings like a leech with unhappy people. No matter what happens in their life they always remain negative. Even if something good happens in their life, they don’t appreciate it. They always remain pessimistic and find something bad in the good.

The prime reason behind this behaviour is that they have subconsciously programmed their minds to see the negative only. This pessimist thinking could be due to bad parenting, society or sometimes it is due to genes also.

Solution: To reprogram your mind-set you need to get out of your comfort zone. Engage in new activities. Step into challenging situations and push yourself to face the challenge. These little steps will slowly build a positive mind-set and bring you a happy life.
